Family LawWe provide a full-service family law practice, advising and representing clients in divorce proceedings, and non-divorce related areas. Divorce Whether you are contemplating divorce, or your spouse is seeking a divorce, you need an experienced and understanding divorce attorney to protect your interests and look out for you. A large portion of our practice is dedicated to representing clients in divorce proceedings. We have extensive experience designing workable and realistic agreements on tough issues related to divorce, including:
We work closely with you and your family members to develop custom-tailored agreements on these issues that address your family’s particular circumstances. Every family is different, and you will receive personalized and custom solutions from us. If negotiated agreements are not an option, we are experienced family law litigators and we will vigorously argue for you, protect your rights, and do everything we can to help you achieve your goals for your family. We continue to work with you as your situation changes and you require modification of support or custody agreements. Non-Divorce Services Our family law practice includes a variety of services for all our clients. We regularly assist clients with issues of probate and estate planning, including preparing wills, establishing legal guardianships and conservatorships, living wills, and ensuring adequate tax planning is accomplished. Whether a divorce requires you to restructure your estate plan, or you need initial estate planning services, we will work with you to design a plan that protects, preserves, and passes on all that you have worked so hard for. We also represent clients in estate litigation, including contests involving will validity. For our probate clients, we navigate estates through the probate court, whether planned for or intestate, while minimizing taxes and expenses for the beneficiaries. Adoption In our in-family adoption practice, we work with stepparents and grandparents to adopt stepchildren and grandchildren. A stepparent adoption will establish a legal parent-child relationship, which is useful in the even of an absent or deceased biological parent. A stepparent adoption allows the stepparent to make legal decisions for the adopted child. Grandparent adoptions are an important alternative in cases where parents have been determined to be unfit or become incarcerated and the family does not want the children raised in foster care. If you seek to adopt a stepchild or grandchild, we will do everything we can to finalize the legal aspects of the adoption as soon as possible. Paternity Whether you seek to establish paternity with a paternity test or compel an individual to take the test or provide a DNA sample for testing, we can help. We have significant experience representing mothers and fathers in paternity determination cases. Following establishment of paternity we will work with you on identifying and enforcing child support requirements. If you have questions about how we can serve you and your family in any of these areas, do not hesitate to contact us for a FREE CONSULTATION.
